Sept 22 13 Media Analysis Assignment Charles
the
film maker gives us many opinions to say that copywriting is bad. I agree that
the record companies are taking advantage with copywriting. this is shown when
Warner Chapel tried to sue people that used Radiohead's music that was put up
for free use on the internet.
Bias is
shown in this film. My first example of this is when the film maker talked to the author of air pirates, Dan
O'Neill. The film shows only shows the side of the of O'Neill and not the side
of Disney. This is biased because Disney's role in the lawsuits are not taken
in account. Another example of bias is when the film maker talks about Girl
Talk's music, and how his music is made through remixing various songs into
one. This is biased because the film does not involve the story of the record
companies that think that taking samples of songs and making mash ups with them
is against the law.
I think
that the future of making mash ups out of song samples is good for the remix
artists. I say this because if artists continue to put music up for free on the
internet mash up artists will not have to deal with copyright infringement from
record companies.
